I would like to take this oppitunity to promote the Global Centre Forums. Not because anyone will bother visiting, but because everyone else has, and we have more banal threads then any other forum mentioned in this thread so far.

Thank you very much and thanks for boosting our traffic by 200%.

I do not feel I am being inappropriate by suggesting that http://www.rtsnet.tv/ already has a growing community of posters and would welcome more. There is "Intellectual Intercourse" for serious conversation on any subject and "**** & Giggles" where moderation is more relaxed and slightly more tangental threads are part and parcel.

As with most other sites you will need to register to post but this is extremely quick. It does require you to click and link in an email to activate your account but after doing so, which should take no longer than a couple of minutes, you can get posting straight away.

At the moment I do not have a problem with TV Forum members using the RTSNET to continue general conversation. As I said people are already using the site so it is by no means dead.

The link again, http://www.rtsnet.tv/

Nice bit of free corporate promotion there RTS Wink Well Played!!

I think there should be 1 and 1 only, or more competition will continue to take place between the numerous other ones.

I also think that TV Forum needs a Lounge, or threads that shouldn't be in the main forum, but in the lounge will creep into the main forum and the main forum will be degraded further.

Well it would be too ironic for words if I didn't join in wouldn't it Wink

I agree that TV Forum needs a Lounge, but also agree that people need to earn the right to use it. A time-out period is a good idea and is something other sites have used effectively in the past before.

In the meantime people have given us alternatives. The advantage of http://www.rtsnet.tv being that it already has many other posting members where as temporarry forums do not. I am not by any means knocking efforts made by other members though.

Oh my God.

MrTomServo hasn't shut this thread down yet! Somebody's being a bit slow, aren't they?

It really is who you know, not what you know on these forums, isn't it?

I'm glad I didn't vote for him in the 4th Mod elections.

Oh, you're so clever.
I want to be just like you when I grow up. Oh wait, I've passed that age already.

<<Bangs head repeatedly against wall>>

What is it with some people here? Don't they get it - the main reason why the lounge has been closed? Yet they still carry on.

And on.

And no doubt on even further.

As a past regular reader of and contributor to the forum, the attitudes of late certainly don't endear me to take part much any more.

Please, can some people lighten up, and hopefully we can get back to some semblence of sensibility.

Just my 2p's worth. Now I'll go away and shut up.

I know it can be hard sometimes, but as a mod I would hope you would show a little more restraint when posting.

AGREED!

I can see the WHOLE of tv forum being closed down at this rate!

Maybe there has been some nasty pills put into the water supply of stoke-on-trent and affected everyones ability to be nice!

Or maybe its just that people cant contain themselves that there may be some new ITV1 idents tomorrow?

I have made a froum, in progress, it isn't a temp lounge. The closure said something about 'making a froum for general chit chat' it's what I'm doing. I'll link soon, I'm trying to do the colours

Why? This is the exact same problem as last time. Someone gets in with their forum first (last time, it was me), and then everyone wants a taste of power, so they set up a forum. The only way this will really work is if one member's forum (BBC TV Centre gets my vote, as his was first) is designated an 'official' replacement by the moderators.

Trust me, I write from experience.

Are you talking temp or permanent. I'm just building a forum for anyone who wants general chit chat, although proboards is anoying me...

What is the point? BBC TV Centre's is already in use so we don't need yet another one. *Sigh* This happens each time!

Because we've already got a choice of 3 forums to join!!

And we don't want Question & Answer threads all the while!

I dunno, but I see it that some people are taking the forum a little too seriously. It appears that some people have made it a part of their lives rather than something merely to participate to.

I really hate this saying as I'm one to talk, but I really think it applies here.

Get out more.
