Temporary Lounge

I've set one up (April 2003)

This site closed in March 2021 and is now a read-only archive

It ain't the same, but I've quickly knocked up a server.com message board, to be a temporary lounge.

It's not as secure as the lounge, it doesn't require registration, anyone can be anyone. Don't abuse it, if it is abused, I'll just take it down.

EDIT - URL removed

Perhaps we should have a "vote" because before long there will be at least 10 different "temp lounges"

No offence to you, but that really is knocked up quickly and hardly seems worth using. If some kind sole want to upload or offer their forum for everyone temporally.. and maybe eventually permanently :S

If anyone wants you can use my forum, its pretty small but does the job. www.dazecoop.co.uk/forum

Is the 'official' temporary TV Forum, used during major collapses of the real TV Forum still around? Last time I checked it was still there, but had been locked up. Would the owners open it again?

I remember every time the lounge has closed before we have about 10 replacements, all of which have very few members & postings.

BTW, looks like it's been abused already

Now that old forum was REALLY slow. By the way Chris, it looks like your forum has already been abused...

Well aren't some people mature? 45 minutes after opening it, and the 10 year olds invading thinking they were 'ard by using the word 'poo'. I said that on an insecure forum where there aren't any registration facilities all I could do is pull the plug if it gets abused, and so I have. The temporary lounge is closed.

Well done, children.

I've got the little arsewipe's IP - it's 62.254.0.11.

Can one of the mods find out which member on here has used that IP?

I didn't think to note the IP's of the earlier offending post, but I've now blocked that one, and if he/she turns out to be the only troublemaker, I may consider reopening that temporary forum if there's call for it.

I think you'll find it's NOT his real IP address. It is in fact the address of the proxy server(s) which are forced upon all who have an ntl: broadband connection. As these caches are at the local POP, you may be denying access to a whole area of people if you do block the IP.

So this person has an ntl broadband connection AND lives near Nottingham (cache8-nott.server.ntli.net)

I have a forum, it's currently being built as I type... Wink

No it is not. Don't you dare jump to such conclusions without having any firm proof. Evil or Very Mad Mad

And for the record, I do not live any where near Nottingham!

Yeah, I remember Maximillan trashing the forum.

The forum is now open for business. Clicky
