So what happens when Lizo from Newsround turns up presenting the 5 O'Clock News hour? Do we discuss it in the presenter thread, which the sane members will be avoiding? As I've said over on Metropol, whilst I find the recent spate of inane ramblings about who's presenting when extremely tedious, I do still have an interest in the presenters, just not obsessively so.
I propose we create a special forum for non-trolls, where we can discuss things intelligently without it being ruined by "ZOMG tim wilcockx is on 2daY" every other post.

Obviously there won't be massive presenter changes everyday! That's the whole point! These idiots sit at their computers every day keeping a log of the News 24 presenters, a list of possible programmes they are being tried out for, and, just to be damn annoying and rude, post it on this forum! Keep them out the way, give them their own thread, great idea, but some other idiots come in here complaining, thus giving everyone a new problem.
I could not agree more. As I have said, I believe this was a very wise move by the moderators. It also seems that these presenter discussions are becoming progressively more obsessive - I echo a comment made on Metropol some time ago that "all you have to do is look through the Newsroom to find the next Barry Georges".
I congratulate the moderators and Asa on this decision.

I'm sorry but I tend to agree. Before long both these threads will be on page 58 or something, one main thread discussing everything is fine, having two will be confusing for some people, and its not like something massive will happen to the presenter rota everyday, meaning it will end up being a white elephant. Other threads discuss presenters/presentation: Sky News thread, ITV News, AJE, CNNi.

Think of Charlie Wells as very polite. 'Presenters' = 'The dullest members'. 'Presentation' = 'Pretty much everyone else'. If there's a big change, it can go in the pres thread. Just don't tell them we're discussing presenters or they'll be back.
Same. But that's not going to happen - this solution is the best possible.

Not the first time someone has tried to do this, probably won't work this time.
I'd like to know what Asa's thoughts are on this, I know he was never a fan of the official threads. In reality there only needs to be one News 24 thread as the one we had was more or less full of boring observations and fantasies - I personally think anything major enough to annoy people who don't like to trawl through that kind of thing should be posted in an individual thread.

But there's so many of these dull eejits now that there's no getting rid of them at this stage. As I said it's been years since this rota stuff began in the ITV News Channel thread. It's too late now to end it. It's best to just give them their own place to play that can be avoided by the rest of us.
Exactly.

As I've said before, it's one thing to discuss what's actually happening on the channel, but the hundreds of words of conjecture and fantasy schedules are quite another matter.

Nah it can be pre-dated back to the discussion on BBC World.

If the Newsroom was merged back into the main forum, where it ought to be, then that would solve everything.
