TBH, It looks terrible to me SMG are trying to look modern but it leaves me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

i dont understand why they persist with having the "smg" brand on screen now that scottish and grampian are united as stv. surely stv is the brand they need to be promoting to the audience on screen, inside and outside of scotland.

I wonder what they'll be called after this comes to pass? Not to mention what could also become of the stv brand.

No, it is confusing. I agree they should probably be promoting STV rather than anything else.

I doubt UTV will touch the stv brand for now.

If UTV grab SMG then they'll probably just change some of the management - I can't see them replacing a new(ish) brand with something else. It would just lead to confusion and probably more hassle than need be.
