I know it's only early days but aside from one or two programmes this service doesn't really offer anything different to what's already out there. The picture quality's ok though.

Is it just me or is the big play button sometimes being hidden behind the programme picture when you click onto the programme?

The main plus seems to be the BBC Archive, some irks that need sorting though, like resume play and just watched, being missing. Will on feed to TV later for quality assessment.

Good environment for feedback though which I'll do next week after playing.

What we could all do with is have access to the BBC Archive from within iPlayer

Yes, and maybe some regional archives too.

Not much in the way of programming, some more archive BBC shows but that's it, the rest of the content is available on 4OD and Demand Five. I was expecting more, to be honest.

Which we'll never get, it's one of the main reasons Kangaroo got canned.

Anyone know why there is no ITV stuff?
I thought ITV had a part in this, but I guess not.

Corrie wouldn't go a miss! 'Piers Morgan On...' along with 'TV Burp' would be another good'un, but I guess we wont be seeing that on there due to licensing. As for the rest of ITV's content I'm not that bothered. I think it's a real positive how various content providers can be found in one place, but I don't think we as a consumer will see the full benefit until they build a bigger back catalogue which I'm sure it will over the coming weeks and months.

Bear in mind that they have to find the programmes, upload them and catalogue them, it's not like YouTube.

For a closed beta trial I think it''s impressive, no real showstoppers and they have had a decent attempt at a support message board too.

Content will be king though as already expressed here. Would be good to have some less popular material available too, notably say Horizon and Michael Wood type series but I wonder whether BBC Worldwide have the relevant access rights to them.

The charging structure for the non advertising supported programmes and 'channels' will be intriguing.

Can anyone determine bit rates being used? The analytics that are available on the iPlayer and recently YouTube seem not to be available.
