Hi all, Long time lurker, first time poster.

Just thought you might like to know that we're running a competition to redesign the BBC's homepage and start some wider thinking about what the BBC's online offering should be.

I'm the picture editor for bbc.co.uk, and watched with interest your comments here
http://www.tvforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19929&sid=b11cfe61918f89f05c325ea2d206ca7c

If you're interested I blogged about the processes that led to the 'planet earth' special pages here.

The page for the competition is here
http://open.bbc.co.uk/reboot/

The winner will receive a high end Apple laptop, a visit to the BBC and have their design implemented and showcased on the bbc.co.uk homepage later this summer.
The Runners Up. At least ten of what the BBC has to call "MP3 Players" are in the offing. The number and range of runner up prizes is more likely to be dependent on the volume and quality of entries.

All valid entries will be showcased on open.bbc.co.uk/reboot/

(To the mods, not sure if this should/could go in the Mock ups forum too, but don't want to dupe...?)

Agreed. The likes of Lee, MDTA and Jay should have a go.

This one reminds me of a regularly banned TV Forum user...

And people say a lot of the Mocks forum is full of rubbish! Laughing

Really interesting stuff from the blog though, especially from Martin Belam - I managed to catch his blog a couple of months before he left the Beeb.

Personally I think a BBC.co.uk 2.0 homepage should realise what pages you're reguarly visiting on the site and create a "myBBCLinks" section for easy access. Some stuff involve drilling down several pages or using an absolute URL.
