Tip for Rob Francis:

Check the spelling of 'intellectual' in the site header Laughing

Erm... thanks.

I didn't design the logo, I'll check it out with my mate.

Oh, and BTW, the site is back

You say that you de-merged from the RTS forums "due to lack of interest", but what difference does it make if the forum is integrated into one site or the other? I'm sorry, but I don't accept that this is the reason.

Within seconds of browsing your forums, I spot the usual Rob Francis Rules and Regs thread. Why do you create so much noise about these rules and regluations? Perhaps this is the reason why all your forums remain empty? Perhaps users resent being treated like a child by a child?

I also find it incredible, that despite the site and ring owner being specified as "Rob Francis" he still denies responsibility for the spelling errors on the site.

I also couldn't help but spot the irony in this rule: Stick to the point in each post you make. Please use correct spelling where possible, and NOT text speak.

The rules are there because there are 13 year olds who visit the site. And you may want to speak to RTS, he'll confirm that we've demerged.

I'm not disputing that you've "demerged", I was saying that the reason given "lack of interest" was not a valid one.

Like I said previously, but was ignored, what difference does it make if a bunch of forums are part of one site or not?

RTS, the point I am trying to make, which you have missed is the following:

The statement on Rob's forum suggest that the reason why this forum was demerged from yours was due to lack of interest.

What I am saying is that what difference does it make if the QMC forums are part of your site or not?

If there was no interest when the forum was part of RTS, what makes it different now? I'm fairly certain that the reason why RTS and QMC merged in the first place was to drum up a bigger community.

Can you not see where I am coming from, and why I believe that the reason cited is invalid, or at best not the correct reason.

Thank you for clarrifying that point for me. In return I will provide the following information.

My site offers the opportunity for bands to promote themselves. QMC allows discussion on subjects at school. It was my belief that both sites appeal to the same age group, and 'type' of student. By merging, the idea was that the audience to all the forums would increase, which we believed would be a benefit to our members.

It was known all along to me and Rob that it was a trial, and that there would be no problem with demerging if it appears our experiment wasn't working. As it turns out it didn't - and the decision was made to keep the two specialised areas on seperate sites.

Thanks for the response. The problem is not with your site, as I have already speculated, it's with Rob Francis's draconian moderation style and his ironic rules and regulations, which he claims are sufficient to prevent “13 year olds” from misusing his forums. The day any 13 year old has the inclination to misuse an empty forum will be the day the Rob Francis forums have their first post.

I seem to remember, that until the QMC sections disappeared from RTSNET the only posts were made by Rob himself. At least your forums actually have some contributing members.

What I don't understand is why Rob has seeked design work from myself and Ben Hale, then butchered their designs, ditched them, then replaced them with shoddy cack and started "Rob Francis Web Design" - it beggars belief!

*Confusion Moment*

If QMC De-Merged from RTSNet because of 'lack of interest' doesn't that give Mr Francis a hint as to how poor the site actually is.
