Well yes I ended up having to use explorer in the end -- it's all rather pretty really, nice v local weather forecast and I was just about to watch something with Philippa Forrester about a Sussex forest before I realised I didn't really care enough.
Might be nice when it reaches more places of course -- although I can't help thinking only thoroughly provincial places like Ross-on-Wye and Northwich will be chosen, rather than perhaps Widnes or Merthyr Tydfil.

Doesn't seem to work properly in Safari (though it is supposed to). It's WMP that's causing the problem though.

The first time I tried it with Safari I got lots of WMV error messages but after that it worked more or less OK.
The local weather was very impressive. Shame about the ancient John Suchet Lunchtime News cap used as an icon for the news section.
The interface is clunkier that it needs to be, but I hope the trial is a success and they roll it out across the country.

So, let's see; local news sport and weather, information about the region and what's on and a chance to see local ITV programmes on the web.
Congratulations ITV you've re-invented the wheel.
Certain ITV regions had this running as far back as 2000 but in 2004 dear old ITV decided it was too costly to run and ditched all those regional websites that had local news sport and weather, information about the region and what's on and a chance to see local ITV programmes on the web.
