Oh sorry, well there's the link for those mock makers....

Orry, I can understand that you won't make a successor, but have you thought about other ideas that people can make fantasy TV stuff?

Forums in general have had their day, it's only forums like this one, which are going to survive, for enthusiasts and the like. But technology can change very fast, who knows what can happen.

Disagree, that's exactly what forums are for and always have been - enthusiasts. You don't sign up to a forum called TV Forum if you're not at the least very interested in TV.

I would argue that TV Forum is actually the exception to the usual forum rule, which is when you sign up you're there to talk about the original subject of the site, but slowly over time you make friends and begin to post mainly in the off-topic sections. As TVF doesn't have an off-topic section because it was long ago split off into a separate website that is mostly inactive, it's unique in this regard.

I love Facebook and particularly Twitter, but on there I can indulge in all of my interests and am limited to 140 characters (which I am very bad at limiting myself to even after 8 years of using it). On a forum I can go in depth more and you know exactly what kind of discussions you'll get in a given section of the forum.

Forgive me for being slow, but I don't understand what you're asking?

I meant other platforms for people to make mocks and fantasy schedules for things like Network Six, even if it's not in a forum-based area.

Also, would anyone be interested in making a tribute thread to Network Six?

Ah I'm with you, I did years ago, but as I said before I simply just don't have to run anything like that anymore.

Running Network Six didn't just involve moderating the forum and building a community, it also involved building and updating the website, updating the forum and server software every few weeks and making sure it didn't break, marketing the site, etc.

While it wasn't a significant amount of work, it is quite a lot. These days I work in the media and build websites and systems for a living, which means when I come home from work I want to sit back and relax, not carry on doing the same.

If anyone else wishes to take it on however they are very welcome to do so, and I will wish them the best of luck in doing so.

Sadly Orry, I doubt Network Six will return, but what I am hoping is those who are willing may post their station history and mocks in the Gallery on this site in order to shake-up that area again. However, there is Java-TV for that too.

Whose telling who..who? Orry already explained in detail why.

dbl, I meant that no one else may pick it up. I understood what Orry meant, he said he would not revive it.

...but Java TV is built on free software that looks crap. I offered to host the myself so it would look a bit more respect, but nobody ever got back to me.

Face it, nobody wants to see it back, just let it go...

On the Java-TV thing, will, I guess it needs a rebuild. But it should survive even if not updated, since it should represent an archive of fantasy television.

But there is always the Gallery too, that does need a big boost.....

However, I have already conceded that Network Six has died and I was not trying to attract a full-on revival there....

No thanks - no need to pollute the waters here, especially considering the general quality of mocks over at Java TV,
