Just putting my money where my mouth is...

At 5:00pm on Monday 19 April 2004, I launched my own in-house
television channel aptly named BBC FIVE. This doesn't broadcast
anywhere other than my house it's really just an Audio-visual set up.

The Network Control Room that I built for it is based on the Broadcast
Network Control System that has been used for BBC channels back in
2002 and 2003 and is still used for BBC News 24 and BBC World.

My In-house channel BBC FIVE is based on BBC TWO. The idents I
created on Powerpoint and I animated a "5" that has arms much the same
as the "2" of the BBC TWO ident and did creations for most of the BBC
TWO idents and they look very good using a "5" with a Purple ident box.

The average person in the street if I mentioned it them they would
probably hink that I am sad. I often use my in-house channel for
training purposes for my ambition to work at playout in the BBC
Broadcast Centre.

Here is a typical weekday some programmes are ones which I present
myself that are on video.

The Closedowns and Close are usually on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays
and Sundays only except during season breaks when they are everyday
all week.

The programme with the * symbol are the ones that I present.

I treat the channel like a real channel though as it feels real enough
when watching it. It does feel like a BBC Digital channel. It is a
shame that I can't put it on the internet because of copyright
reasons. Still there's no harm me being the only viewer except when I
show friends it.
