I have noticed the uploader thing gets a bit upset if a filename has square brackets, which I've always presumed is because it interferes with the UBB square bracket codes.

All I can think is my username changed fairly recently?

Oh yes that breaks everything.

If that's true, change the url to include your old username instead of your new one. Does that work?

So I've still got paul_hadley's upload issue to deal with but just a wee update on something else.

I've just deleted over half our users on metropol, 1038 out of 2026 if you're curious.

The citeria being
- never logged in
- had a spam link in their URL profile field
- never posted, and only logged in within 24 hours of registering never to return

If I've somehow managed to catch any very recently signed up users in this purge, sorry, but feel free to just register again.

Seems like they've been working on this for quite a while!

The fact that uploader still works at all in a miracle in itself

Murphy's Law will now dictate that the entire service will come crashing down around your ears very shortly and there will be a massive pile of rubble where the Metropol uploader once stood. Then it shall be surrounded by long-time contributors to Metropol standing in a circle around the rubble holding hands chanting Kumbaya. Then the God of Pete will announce its resurrection in Firefox style

The uploader hasn’t worked for me in a long time. I think it lets me upload but I can never open anything it uploads - including old files.
