APFS was the premiere mocking site. All the mocks on there were absolute class, the kind I could imagine on my own TV screen. (But the mocks on this site are as good). Does anyone remember the APFS Network on Channel Six thing they did? That was good.
A new mock site along the lines of APFS is something I've been considering, which would nicely compliment Network Six. The only reason nothing has popped up so far is because if I were to do it, I would have a system where people could register and directly upload mocks to the site. However, obviously such a system needs developing from scratch, which I do not have the time to do at the moment.
It's a shame TMF has disappeared, as it was the closest thing we had to a site like APFS. Unfortunately last I heard from Andy is that he's heard nothing from the others involved in the site, and therefore it has disappeared.
I keep meaning to get my galleries (top of the page) up on my site, along with the videos for that went with them, and possibly bring them up to date too. I'll get round to it one day, along with all my other things I've been planning to do for years...
I miss the time I spent trawling through the APFS site looking at fantastic mock ideas. I'm sure I'm not the only one who became inspired and started mocking up several ideas hoping to someday post them to APFS... sadly I never got the chance to. Would be fantastic to see a new incarnation though.
One thing I've been working on lately though, is a mock where you invent a country, language and it's television stations (or at least one) and do your mocks that way. You get around the whole dates and accuracy thing that way and you don't just end up with another set of IBA transmitters in service cards etc.. I was inspired by some of the international pres you can see on YouTube. I'm not too sure the results were all that great though when I put it together, the announcement I did was hilariously bad. I shall work on it more another time and YouTube it though.
