I'm afraid to report that the Java TV website (http://java-tv.wikifoundry.com/) has been inactive for a while. I hereby declare that the project that I started to basically find old mocks on particular websites like APFS, may have come to an end unless it becomes active.

If you have any mocks from any old mocks website that are still not on the website or any one that you want showcased, please upload them. The more mocks we have, the more interesting the website can get, and the interest in TV mock ident making will remain high.

Nevertheless, if this is the end, the website will never go away, so it can be updated again in the future. But please, I don't want this to die out. Thank you.

P.S. The old Java-TV thread have been archived, that's why this thread was set up. My apologizes for not updating the old one often.
P.S.S Don't worry, I am in the process of making mocks. I've done some for ITV 60th Anniversary, and I'm making more using other themes.

Considering the plague of MSPaint mocks that clutter the site, all I can say is good riddance Smile

Not all are paint, but if I was properly in charge of the site I would ban those mocks that are fully showing they are Paint ones.

Lukesams tried to get people back to the website by using TV Lounge to promote one of his mocks on Java TV.

Unfortunately he got banned for "mis-leading". At least he tried.....

I would advise him (he could be reading this as a guest you know) that he should do his own website for his mocks. Almost 50% mocks on Java-TV are his. And only 50% of those are good ones. He's very confusing, he does some good ones and some horrible ones, and I don't know how to judge him on that basis.

If I can, and I'm working on some mocks ATM, I will try to end his dominance with some mocks of my own.

Have you, by any chance, heard of the term 'clickbait' before?

I think it's a good idea and I've contributed a gallery there before. There's a few things about it that sit a bit uneasily with me though - someone's added several low-quality mocks to Brad Jones's TVS gallery as "a tribute to him", which along with making it sound like he's dead (he isn't), it's also not immediately apparent that they're not his designs or ideas. The shift in technical quality jars quite a bit.

Also, this definitely, definitely isn't Brad's original gallery. The whole thing is a crap and slightly disconcerting MS Paint remake of his designs.

It was a good thing and bad thing. The good thing was he was trying to promote the site, the bad news was he was breaking the rules of TV Lounge in the process.
