Does it look as bad as this for everyone?

The menu bar seems to have changed - earlier it was big but the text wasn't. They now seemd to have finished changing it and now it's all bigger!

I wonder if it's just for the world cup or longer - as when you click through to other sites from the homepage ther've still got the old menu bar!

And also link doesn't work!

No doubt that its for the world cup but hopefully, it would look a nice change Very Happy

Have to say ITV have pulled out all the stops for this 1 month event, ITV Live looks like a good service. Ive been watching the match for a good 10 minutes and no buffering Very Happy

EDIT: New Menu Appearing on News Blogs page
http://blog.itv.com/news

yeah that image was what I was talking about it looked before!

Yeah, I know the giant banner will just be for the world cup, I was talking about the menu - but if it's now on the news blogs, I suppose it's here to stay!

I agree they have gone all out - the itv live thing is quite good, had a few problems with loading earlier, but seems to have been fixed mostly. Although one thing, the picture isn't too great( even by online standards)

ITV's mobile site has also been relaunched today. Looks nicer than it used to but I'd still much prefer it if they had a link to the proper site since the content on the mobile site is quite slim and it constantly redirects to the mobile site when manually try to visit any part of the desktop site.

The ITV Live site and ITV Player show that ITV do have the capability to build attractive looking websites, so why can't they come up with something equally attractive for their main website? This should surely be their prime concern - it's the first thing people see, after all.

The new menu bar and centre-alligned design on the ITV.com homepage is a step in the right direction, but even there's still a long way to go. No reputable site would refresh its homepage navigation without making the same changes across the rest of the website, yet things like this seem to be common practice at ITV.

Also, looking at that ITV News blog, what on earth is going on with Chris Choi's entry from 9th June? It's a complete mess, with different fonts, font sizes and badly aligned images all over the place. Presumably a whole team of people are getting paid to manage the ITV website... surely they can't look at some of the things across the website and be happy with them?

I totally agree with you, however the site is improving, the intoduction of the brand new style design sites is a massive improvement but as you say more needs to be done. To think they've probably put more into an event lasting a month than they have done on the whole site for the past year! Hopefully this is an eye opener for them

I agree that The ITV Live and ITV Player sites are great.

On the new menu bar - I think a couple of pages have got the new look. Proberly be rolled out over the coming days.

Also on the itv news blog - I think it's just Chris Choi himself - all the other blogs are okay. I think they log into the actual blogs sofware themselves.

As I said the other day, the new chairman basically said the website wasn't good enough. I expect that it might be relaunced by the end of the year.

And didn't the This Morning team say that the website is having some major changes somebody said on here. I imagine the menu will be staying, after all it was being altered on the site as the "Coronation Street" link was removed and this week added on.

So hopefully a complete overhaul then Very Happy

Oh and sstripling what other sites have got the new menu apart from news blogs... I find them lol
