For people who think ITV's website is behind the times, have any of you looked at Channel 4's website?
It looks very old fashioned. Its also left aligned apart from the homepage, all the links, buttons etc are old fashioned, small text. It just generally doesn't look appealing at all.

At least the majority of itv.com is now looking half decent. Though they seriously need to sort the Emmerdale website out quickly!!

According to www.alexa.com - channel4.com is the 64th most popular website in the UK, with itv.com 32 places behind them.
The mighty bbc.co.uk is in 6th place.

Wow, never thought I'd see Channel4.com higher ranked than itv.com Surprised

I would actually say that Channel4.com is miles ahead of ITV in terms of usability and design. I love the Channel 4 website, and it crucially has a really good structure to it - 4oD is implemented into programme pages, and it is not old-fashioned in the slightest. It's got a consistent, modern design that reflects the Channel 4 brand.
ITV.com needs a total revamp. The site at the moment feels so cluttered and there's no overall structure to it at all. There's a clash of so many different styles and there's no coherence. They need to completely rethink it from top to bottom - get rid of the mish-mash of styles and horrendous usability. BBC/C4-esque "programme pages" would go some way towards cleaning it up and making it nicer to navigate and use. I never use the ITV website, unless I wanted to watch something on ITV Player, in which case I would skip the homepage completely.

Anyone know how long the ITV Mobile website has looked like this http://mobileshop.itv.com/
Its just they have started to promote it during ECPs of the soaps, so decided to check it out.

It looks pretty good, just needs some more content. More programme theme tunes etc, but the ringtones they currently have are pretty good.

I was checking that out earlier too because I saw this http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/digitaltv/news/a204820/itv-studios-launches-mobile-products-shop.html
so obviously only been done today or yesterday.

Quite good I think!

Ah ok. Thanks for that.
I guessed it must be fairly new for them to only just start promoting it.

It will be great once they start to get more content on it.

If you mean the 'comments' and thumbs up bits, they have been there for months. Possibly even since the site launched.

The Loose Women site got a new look last week
http://www.itv.com/lifestyle/loosewomen/

Also other new sites launched with the new standard look:
http://www.itv.com/entertainment/celebrityjuice/
http://www.itv.com/lifestyle/jeremykyle/
http://www.itv.com/sport/indianpremierleague/

Now Emmerdale seriously needs a new site. ITV told me one is being made and will be online soon. But with ITV, soon could mean a year!! Hope it really does get done soon, and I mean within the next 2 months.

Yeah I mirror your thought there, Emmerdale is one of their main shows and they need to give it a good site, it must be the only site apart from dramas that havent actually been changed.

Slight tweek to ITV News website as the scrolling story list has now got an image, this little bit extra is so much better as it feels a lot more "proffesional".
And on that site the website has got a page for the budget
http://www.itv.com/news/budgettest/?intcmp=NAV_NEWS6_BUDGETTE40
atm it has got a video player which looks like a live ITV feed and a Coveritlive chatbox from the updates of Tom Bradby
