Sorry but I don't understand the flack you're giving the ITV Player site - an "overcomplicated, dull mess"?! To be honest, I don't think it could be any simpler. Highlights at the top, a selection of ways to search for shows below that, and then a few more highlights and recommendations at the bottom. Hardly complicated - in fact a hell of a lot simpler to find something specific than BBC's iPlayer.

Michael Grade is understood to have put the social networking website Friends Reunited up for sale as part of a wider cost cutting drive.

Grade is expected to confirm his decision to jettison the business, which helps people stay in touch with school and university friends and has branched out into genealogy, when ITV reports its annual results next month.

Hmmm, some... peculiar changes made to the homepage. A bigger logo and a black and grey navigation with a "Don't Miss" bit which I suppose is a bit like the bottom line of the Explore BBC feature.

I think ITV demands respect for managing to make an atrocious web design look even more cluttered... not many people can do that.

Why is it ITV can't make a decent website compared to it's rivals?

I think the new header makes the site more cramped.

Looks like the header is completely broken on the Primeval site - http://www.itv.com/Drama/cult/Primeval/default.html - and on http://www.itv.com/TVGuide/default.html

All the "More Drama" links seem to be broken at http://www.itv.com/TVShows/?intcmp=NAV_1004 - all of them say "whitechapel" and all link to http://www.itv.com/link.htm which doesn't exist.

I'm not sure the new header is actually worse than what there was before, but bizarrely it seems ITV.com and Channel4.com are gradually becoming more and more similar!

http://www.itv.com/TVShows/?intcmp=NAV_1004 and http://www.channel4.com/programmes as one example.

Yeah, the '.com' part looks slightly pixelated on my screen - odd. The website over the last few months is better than it has been, but it still seems really plain and not very user-friendly compared to others.

As far as the ITV player... its pretty poor, they penalize you if you click on the seek bar during an advert by restarting it! Then often, after waiting for the adverts to pass, the video fails to play at all!

Seemingly ITV isn't spending the money that ITV.com requires to actually be 'decent'. Quite frankly it's a shambles. They need to start again from scratch but I'm sure they won't bother. They'll just leave it as it is. Rolling Eyes

ITV Player is dire. I'm not expecting anything like the iPlayer because obviously the BBC has more money to play with, but the whole layout, the design, the actual player - everything is so unnecessarily frustrating.

It's not as if they can't get the same technology - the BBC have said they are willing to share the iPlayer with rivals! If they have any sense ITV will take them up on that offer.

Having said that, Five have managed it with Demand Five, which is excellent.
