Seems a bit pointless - who would want to listen to Wimbledon matches on itv.com when they can see them in the glory of video at bbc.co.uk?

People who would like to simply listen, not watch? There are some people who would rather hear radio commentary than TV commentary.

I think it's been mentioned in the ITV2 thread however the ITV2 website has been updated...

...I'm not too sure what to make of this new look. Interesting to note they've reverted back to the above format from briefly using http://itv2.itv.com

The TV Guide and X Factor site has been tweaked to, with the Best of ITV section renamed 'TV Classics'.

Good god, The X Factor has taken over the entire ITV homepage! Is there really any need? It's Thursday!

They're now using a new video player (don't know if it works outside of XP and IE because I'm using both!). I'm not a technical person but I'm pretty sure this is a Flash player (please say I'm right!). Finally you're able to skip through any part of the programme instead of just going through the chapters. The entire length of the programme is now at the bottom of the screen showing you where the ad breaks will next appear (example). You can also easily go into full screen without a window poping up and telling you the bleeding obvious.

It's a great improvement, it might make me stop using STV's service.

Oh, my god, it works! (FF3, Vista). Their catch up service is still crap though.

Unfortunately it's still Microsoft Silverlight and not flash.

last time I tried ITV it wouldn't let me skip without first forcing me to endure that terrible "we all want our kids to eat breakfast, LIKE TOAST" advert. STV however works far nicer and seems ad free.

ITV rebrands online catch-up TV service as ITV Player
ITV is to rename its online catch-up TV service ITV Player in a bid to create a brand that will be instantly recognisable to consumers accessing its programmes online on other video-on-demand services.

They could have called it ITV iPlayer. Laughing
