I still stand by comment that ITV.com needs another rebrand.
The box when first visiting the site just says "LOADING" and the ITV channel logos don't appear in the video player, but when going to a different section of ITV.com and going back to the home page they appear and programme box works.
The announcement about the ITV catch-up service doesn't surprise me at all. ITV are seeing how successful the BBC iPlayer has been in comparison to their offering (which has hardly been advertised, anyway) and realised that they need to do something similar. Which is wholly understandable, but it just shows how differently the two broadcasters went about the whole online catch-up thing in the first place. I suppose the BBC Trust's involvement and the long beta testing phase was the main difference, and what a difference it made.
All of the Watch Now links I've tried on the homepage don't seem to work (the page just refreshes but nothing in the video player) - the only links that work are the ones for live ITV1/2/3/4.
I find it incredibly annoying that they no longer have the detach player option on the videos. It means I can't skip through the programme at all now like I was able to with Windows Media Player.
Well it's now working on Macs so that's one good thing. Took them long enough. The site looks a bit of a mess now though. As bad as it was before it looks worse now.

How did you get it to work? I downloaded Microsoft Silverlight for Mac (beta) but whenever I click on a video link, all it does is display a message basically saying "Thanks for trying our beta service".
Trying
, yeah!
Oh wow, I've just seen it. Agreed, major improvement. I think they need to ditch the player on the all the pages tbh, and do an 'iPlayer' and have it all in one section like that.
:-(

Still have not got a video to work though
This isn't comprehensive debugging (!) but... if you get audio but not video, then have a look at Windows Media Player > Options > Video Acceleration > Advanced and make sure Use Overlays is checked (it worked for me!)
For me when I click on 'play' I get an advert following by 'loading' then a black screen but none of the actual content, it worked fine before the site went tits up a couple of days ago. Is the current design tempory or are they having technical problems? The navigation on the top and on the left of show pages looks awful.
