only itv could possibly ruin the design before it's launched.
i've never been a fan of itv.com's design, and from the looks of things, i wasn't going to be - the white/black sky versions were excellent. this looks poor in comparison - a big step down. the video player looks worse somehow, and the purple just doesn't work at all. i definitely preferred it all on black, looked a lot sleeker. i can see this purple one getting old very, very quickly.

I agree. I think the positioning of the player is all wrong, and the purple background doesn't work as well as the sky did. Just the general look of the site - it's as if they've taken the original design and changed it around and now it doesn't look good. I really am disappointed with it.

Tsk @ Lee. I thought you'd have been round here long enough to know that speculation and nit-picking over sketchy details and stills before actually seeing the finished product on screen is the whole basis of this website. Imagine what life would be like without it.

I think it might be Monday. This online docusoap launches on Monday at 1pm. It would be weird to launch something exclusive to the website before the relaunch which is so close.
