ITV.com Discussion Thread

Emmerdale is always a last minute thing with ITV, always has been ever since YTV changed hands to ITV plc. Emmerdale doesn't get the right promotion and praise of what it deserves. Coronation Street gets all the praise and promotion. Emmerdale has always been sidelined by ITV. If only YTV was around these days it would have better trailers and loads of promotion it deserves.

Still pretty crap, but much better than the previous one. It still doesn't have its own unique style though like Corrie does! No one off look buttons or links, no specially made background etc

Pretty disappointed really. They could have used this opportunity to design a really impressive website like Corrie's, one that would last years like I think the Corrie site will, but this Emmerdale site will soon date I think.

It is an improvement though, it is more sleek, offers a fe more features like the interactive map and I think design wise isn't two bad. Arguably (at the moment) no other ITV site follows the same design (button wise) like the Emmerdale one.

Interesting it's been several weeks since the redesign of the front page and some of the other pages but nothing much has been happening elsewhere on the site, other than this new Emmerdale section...

Having problems accessing ITV.com websites with error message showing. Just had an apology from the CA about problems entering online competitions.

ITV National News and Local news websites will get a revamp soon.

I'm also struggling to get ITV Player to work. It takes ages to load and then won't load the actual programmes.

Yeah is being extreamly patchy today - was late last night too. Currently getting a "Sorry, we're currently carrying out maintenance on ITV.com. The website will be back soon but in the meantime follow our shows on Facebook" message when you try to go throught to most sub sites, Corrie etc. (Homepage strangely working though!)

Also last night when I typed in ITV Player into Google, the first result was something along the lines of " ITV Player - New look ITV Player," although when you clicked through it was still the old/current version. Seems to have disappeared though now. Seems like a new look ITV Player may perhaps be launching within the next day or two - wuold make sense what with the website playing up today.

Good to hear the News site's will be getting a revamp again. Where did you hear this if you don't mind me asking? Don't know why they bothered with the stop gap website we have now, considering there's still loads of sites with the old header, should have just waited until a proper news site had been made.

I hope it is a new ITV Player on the cards, hopefully it's something massive being added rather than a something going horribly wrong on the site.

The news about the new news websites comes from ITV Meridian's facebook page and it now seems things are returning back to normal.

Regarding ITV News website from ITV Westcountry facebook page. " It is in the process of being looked at and revamped, although it probably won't be relaunched for about 6 months or so."

The main websites that haven't changed yet are Daybreak and Lorraine - presumably those are next, then News?

Don't see the point in the hyphen though.

I was going to say, a little more awkward to keep giving out on air than without the dash.
