Well the (newish) currrent management seem to be a bit more realilistic and know that the site isn't overly good atm. Everytime there've mentioned the website they seem to have said it's "not fit for purpose."
Yeah some of the sports sites have been revamped in the last 6 months or so. Some pretty good. I suppose they might keep some of the actual good site designs, but change the homepage, menu's etc.
What they really need is that every page is virtually the same, not saying that every page has to be boring an identical, but there's just too many page designs atm, consistency is key IMO. They need to pick a good page design like for example The X Factor as base it around that I.e the "secondary" menu's.
I hope it will actually be good this time, the amount of times I've heard 'relaunch'.

The Formula 1 site has had a new look, the last time I looked.

Great news however we have heard it all before.
The site is getting better and the new site designs are so much better than those that were used before. While some of the older designs remain. There is a lot of inconsistency and hopefully that will be patched up.
Would somebody be able to post the full article?

I wonder if the new site will look anything like the brand new ITV Wild website

Let's hope not.

The new management team seem a lot more conscious of the fact that ITV.com is, to put it mildly, rubbish in comparison to its competitors so one would hope it's a complete overhaul.

This would be great news if we hadn't heard it all before. I honestly think they need a clear strategy for what they want to achieve with ITV.com. A great example from recently is Channel4.com, which used to have a lot of clutter but is now much clearer in what it wants to do. The programme pages, while fairly basic, are great, and the implementation of 4oD is so easy. It's hard to think their website used to be pretty terrible, because the new content management system they are using has basically transformed the whole site.
I'd like to think ITV.com will surprise me, though.

I wish them luck with mark three. Third time's a charm, or so they say.
Really hope it's a total rebuild from scratch. Delete the current site and re-architect from nothing. All new homepage, CMS, new sites for the big shows (add more over time following launch) but certainly Coronation Street, Emmerdale, News, etc all need new sites with a set design strategy for all sites.
Consistent.
Totally re-engineer ITV Player. Make it faultlessly slick, good to look at, and with high quality playback (HD streaming like iPlayer for supported shows).
I'm sure ITV can do it if they hire a good, professional team with creative vision. They need to take a good look at what the BBC has done right with its website, CMS and design philosophies.
Fingers crossed - this site does need to be forward thinking though and done well - it needs to position ITV firmly in the future of the digital age and be a hub of the network.
