The Ident Gallery : Presentation to Watch

Nice to see the return of the channel number entry feature today.

Aaaargh! I've finally found out the cause of the audio distortion on many of the videos recorded from Sky - noticeable as 'bubbling' music and bad voiceovers. The 'automatic' setting for audio encoding in VideoReDo TVSuite which was supposed to be smart and not re-encode any audio was adding an extra step and degrading the quality a little.

If you listened to the C4 Usain Bolt ident and thought it sounded bad, I've re-encoded it and it's much improved.

However, the past year's worth of presentation sitting on my hard drive is forever cursed...

To be honest its really unnoticeable. I never noticed that the sound quality was poorer. I wouldn't really worry about it.

Thanks for saying, but I know which are the worst offenders and I notice them! Nearly all the caps have gone through TVSuite to trim them for saving and so they're buggered. Oh well...

Indian Summer

Recently I've started trawling through old VHS tapes so that I can add a 'back catalogue' to the Gallery. Whilst the collection will never be as comprehensive as that seen elsewhere, I'm happy to have this presentation on-line.

I've always preferred the 1999 set to the 2002 set - they just dated it for me and weren't as simple or elegant as the originals. But I'd probably rather have the 2002 set over the current set which is just not solid enough in my opinion in cementing the brand (why would you have the 4 logo only on for 1 second that some people can hardly see on an ident so long that sometimes it's cut before you get see the form-up anyway?)

Also didn't like it when they added the URL under the logo.
