I'm having the frequent problem of trying to open some threads, and being presented with a page saying it doesn't exist. It would appear that for some threads, the number of the thread in the link is not there. I have to either close IE or visit another website and come back a couple of times before the thread number reappears and I can load the page.

Is this problem unique to me or is it a database error?

I don't think it's just you. I occasionally get (for the bigger threads running into multiple pages) errors about there being no posts existing for this page if I click on the last page.

Clicking on the last page before the one I'm trying to access allows me to access it(e.g. if the forum reports there's 9 pages for a certain topic, I click page Cool and there is the last post on page 8 - but there's an extra un-needed page that if I do click throws up an error.

Also I get every now and then a "too busy" message.

I haven't seen this problem to date, must be you. I see a 'too busy' often though.

I recent time this forum has got very busy and unfortunately the server can not cope with the extra traffic causing some visitors to get a "too busy" message. Posting a topic/reply can be slow at the moment too.

I'm not entirely convinced it is always because the forum is busy. It sometimes pops up in the early hours of the morning when there aren't that many people online.

I seem to getting too busy when it can't aswell here. I used to have topic unfound but doesn't seem to happen anymore. Smile

Are you sure that wasn't just a rumour?

I too get the "busy" message with monotonous regularity, frequently at (illogical) times when the front page shows only a tiny handful of users.

maybe the moderators are temporarily adjusting the site or something which makes an error message appear

I would think that it because of forum freeware is not being looked after (ie database).
