I think for it to be a success, it needs to start out small. I planned for the new forum to feature a cross between a wiki and an FAQ, allowing members to update pages in the same way they make posts.

So for example, regional news names on the left hand side would link to a page giving details about Midlands Today, South East Today, Calendar etc.. as I know that would tap into those interested in the regional news threads and then maybe build it up from there with pages about FAQs such as "why doesn't BBC One have a clock anymore?" and "which ITV regions had invision continuity?" So if you weren't following the other thread, as part of the new software that'll (eventually) replace phpBB on here, there'll be a wikiish FAQ/Knowledge Base system for pres, news and the other saddo stuff we like.

How INNOVATIVE

Therefore in anticipation, I've set up a wee wiki for us to be able to start writing the stuff that'll end up on that site in the future. So if you know your Meridian from your TVS, and your News cafe from your Ironing Board, start contributing.

Now personally, I'd like the wiki to keep the slightly odd humour we often have on here, so I want to see references to the Ironing Board, and the EMT Laundrette, however mind to keep your facts right. Don't make up stuff in the more factual parts, don't focus on minor details (del monte) and don't accuse young blonde male newsreaders of taking drugs..

If I recall it's an option that is enabled via the localsettings.php file.

just a quick note to those who are bothered. Rob Del Monte has been banned as I'm bored of the tripe he posts - for example the opening to the ITV1 page...

I think it's in the swear filter on TVF - I..T..V..1 - try typing it with single dots and it won't let you.
