Free web space please

reliable hosts - (Warning to Lycos Tripod users!) (January 2005)

Pretty peeved at the moment - Lycos are closing my web account as it only received 5 impressions in 30 days - when they desire 50.

I was under the impression if this happened you'd get the chance to acquire the required page impressions - something easily done here by posting mocks or images in a thread - but no. In 15 days (12 now) it'll be closed.

So anyone recommend any decent and reliable FREE web hosts which I can easily link to with an URL.

I don't have much content - less than 2 MB - most of which consists of mocks and Big Brother content, so don't need huge space, just reliable space!

EddyH - thanks for the offer, but obviously the best solution is for me to host stuff myself.

Also, as I've an existing Yahoo! account what's there hosting service like?

Terrible - No FTP unless you pay and adverts at the top right of your page all of the time. If you ISP normaly does free hosting because of being a customer.

http://www.photobucket.com/ is great if you ONLY have images under 250KB

http://www.fortunecity.com/ is Ok but not best.

You can get rid of those annoying adverts on the right hand side of your page on yahoo. I had the HTML for it when I had a site on yahoo but i dont remember it.

are you sure?? I only closed my site down a week ago.. and I was using it then. I will get my mate to see if he remembers it.

I've gone with Yahoo! for now as it saved me signing up for yet another website - and as I generally just want to link to images / files it seems fine.
