Hi,

Please don't think my site is a 'Web Snatchers' site.

Its NOT.

I don't really want to make peple upset by taking content from their site,
If I had the chocie i would capture the content my self.

But i can't at the moment.

But i am thinking of getting Some TV Capture Things.

Robin, thats not going to make up for earlier e-mails that were published here. If you can't capture the stuff yourself, either don't start a site until you can OR ask for permission before you steal them(sorry borrow Wink), and then give credit to your sources. The captured clips contain copyrighted material from the boardcasters, which is used leagally, however the actual clips are copyright of the webmasters/capturures.

Even if you can't capture stuff, that is absolutely no reason for you to take other people's material? What makes you think you can take them just because you don't have the capability to capture the material? You should close down those sites immediately if you have any self respect left...what your doing is called plagiarism and it is a serious offence . What if you just decided to copy the entire contents of Microsoft's site, claim it to be your own and when you're accused of theft, you plead innocent on the terms that you didn't have the capability to make your own operating system!

As I said, if you have any self-pride left, take the sites down and apologise!

Excuse me for being rude but why bother creating a website that takes content from other sites when the originall site has a better design

All The Content i put up on my site is Copyright To The BBC, ITV, Channel4, Channel5 and other TV companys or the person who created the Themes.

None of the content is copyright to the Webmasters.

If you are a webmaster and think that you own Copyright on it you live in a dream world.

I am not taking any more Sh**

No, it is in fact YOU who is living in a dream world. As I said before, even though the actual CONTENT of these clip do not belong to their respective webmasters, the CLIPS still do. They spent the time with their video recorders and their finger on the record button...they spent the money on the television required to spend the time capturing the actual idents off of a video...they spent the time constructing a webpage. THEY put in the effort and THEY credited the broadcasters for it. As for you, no, you just decide to go and steal (I'm starting to get really angry so yes, I will use that word) other people's videos and put them onto your own site. And on top of that, you have the sheer cheek to acuse the webmasters of plagiarism. They DO NOT think they own the copyright, the broadcasters do, and they recognise that.

You and your websites are know simply as 'web snatchers'. Face it. There is no way you can force yourself out of this or push the blame on others. I can tell you have no self-pride at all...you don't even have the shame to apologise.

Indeed as I said before, the content of the clip is copyright is the channels (do you credit them?), but the clip is owned by the webmaster/capturer concerned. One of your threats to tell the companies about these sites, would fail miserably, they know about them, and check up on them, to see that the content is being used properly and legally which it is on these site. The only ever use for snatcher sites is when they have a better design, but both TV Home, TV Ark, TV World and The TV Room (You probably havn't nicked content from all of them they are just examples) are far better layed out than yours, they use more complex programming, faster loading images, and don't even get me started on your images, they are poorly saved (I havn't check but i bet they are gifs or jpgs at painful levels of compression), and its not just the quality its the placement of text, its all just very shoddy.

The above comment really gets my back up and BBCPrime's message illustrated perfectly what I would say.

You obviously don't have any respect for the people that put time and effort into their sites (I'm just emailed another snatcher called 'Television Eye' which has nicked nearly all my clips).

If you didn't want any more 'abuse', why on earth start this thread? I'm hope you wasn't expecting sympathy.

Providing a link doesn't do any justice! Why create a site with someone's clips and think it's okay to provide a link. It's not.

If a TV company visited your website, and their clips presented in that way, they would get you to remove them straightaway. There's a lot more to copyright than simply sticking a disclaimer on a page.

Cheers, Asa

Yeah and the webmaster of television eye also does not know that much about the law because the site carries adverts. Anyway Robin, you nicely skirted round answering Asa's post there!
