Is it just me, or has no-one bene able to access Digitalspy forums today? All I get is a message telling me that the forum has very high load, does anyone know what's caused this, and has it wrecked the server?

I cannot get in either. I suppose the Big Brother fight last night caused an explosion in the number of users and has knocked it offline.

Yeah, DS is usually such a reliable site to access but events, usually Big Brother, does whack up the number of visitors to an extent there simply aren't enough connections to the backend database to access the posts, hence we can visit the site quickly but can't see any messages. It's a shame but there's little they can do without having some agreement with the hosts to allow more.

They host their own site, but are still limited by their own server capacity. Different bits of the site run on different servers. Last night they put the Forums into Lite mode so they'd load quicker to allow more connections.

Has anyone got an update on the DS situation? It's such a shame that they haven't got all their old threads up - there are only about 2 pages worth of threads in the Satellite forums. I hope they get everything sorted soon.

The threads are there. At the bottom of the page is an option to view threads from a certain time period. By selecting from the beginning you will get every thread created, which will give you 518 pages.

Ah right - only problem is that they've disabled searching.
