Shortly after I posted this, the .co.uk address stopped working and redirected everyone to .com

They've fully ruined the site and the forums. used to be great, not a shadow of its former self.

They seem to don't want to do a UK version of the site anymore, No one is bothering to go on the website now apart from the forums which is fine with adblock. Even the forums is ruined by a black bar at the top and a search they can't be bothered to fix Thumbs down
And you can't start a new thread, at least in Chrome, because for some reason you can't type in the title bar! Mad

If you type the title in to the main thread content and then copy and paste it, it works.

Honestly, it's so unprofessional how they have handled all of this.

These people are used to just doing magazine websites so Digital Spy is too hard for them. Hearst are useless Thumbs down

Many of the links on the homepage are 404ing. Like, a lot of them.

Also, I'm confused as to why they don't think a headline can fit on the homepage when there's a big blank space next to it. The missing ending of the second article is the word "Mermaid". It gives the impression they're trying to tease people and make them click on an article they'd be otherwise uninterested in. There was another one the other day along the lines of "Justin Bieber's relationship with his mum is pretty...".

I'm desperate for an alternative to DS but can never find one that offers such comprehensive reporting on a diverse range of subjects.

Anyone got a suggestion?

The reporting is just copy and pasting these days, The few things that may be worth a read are hidden away. Also the redesign is affecting the forums too.

This may have something to do with imported / generated headlines from elsewhere... in certain RSS to HTML conversion scripts you can choose to display all of the text or some of the text followed by ellipsis. I think something similar is going on here.

The forums have been modified yet again, but whatever smarty-pants did it has not wrecked the whole thing.

Seriously, do they not test these things privately before making changes to a live website? Pure incompetence and something that certain people should be moved or even sacked over. Complete disgrace.

Yeah, I'm getting this on there now:

I can't believe how they're not even publicly owning up to their mistakes on this either!

Yeah, every time I type on there, that crosshatch pattern appears. Mad The Home/Forum/Subforum links at the top are too close to the black bar as well, which is probably going to result in accidental misclicks.

It's a shame the suggestions only seem to be alternatives to the forums, not the main website.
