Looks like another forum on its way out. A lot of the posters seem to be joining AV Forums. I imagine the politics forum was getting increasingly difficult for the moderator’s.
Sounds fair enough, it was originally a site about digital media and entertainment and it's going back to that. Why they'd want to have all the hassle of moderating politics and the like i don't know, and there's plenty of other places to discuss general topics.
One of the final nails in the coffin in the forum's decline.
How do you figure - they also say they're adding more forums to the TV section, it's just the general discussion forums that are going. General discussion forums are a nightmare to moderate even on the smallest of sites, and given how toxic the broadcasting forums on DS got by the time I stopped posting regularly, well I don't even want to imagine what the DS general forums were like.
Yeah, Rob better be on the lookout for registrations for TV Live, I can imagine a fair few DS members may make their way over to it, especially some of the more savoury characters.
Administrators banning political discussion. Just who do they think they are?
Some of the replies in that linked thread are headache-inducing. Pushing away some members is probably a blessed relief for the team. I feel for the guys at AVForums, they may be wondering why their registration count has suddenly jumped today.
