Demand Five - the on demand service from Five

The Demand Five site has gone live - http://demand.five.tv/

Looks good, includes free catch up of shows such as Neighbours, Home and Away and The Gadget Show.

Interesting to see the sites title including 'Channel 5' as opposed to 'five' and its also written in capitals in the image header.

God, please don't tell me that is a new five logo!

So are they still five or will they soon be FIVE on TV too? I hope so, the uppercase FIVE used in the Demand Five logo is a lot more authoritative than the current lowercase five.

Adding to the identity crisis, the 'My Five' logo featured in the welcome video, which uses uppercase FIVE, is different to the one actually used, which uses lowercase five.

Not a bad site, but they're using Windows Media for streaming? C'mon.

And no Mac support...

About time really, there was some really interesting docu-soaps on Five and I missed some of the episodes and had to watch it on TV Catch Up (when it was around). I'm disappointed their using Windows, have they not heard of Flash?

Glad to see they've not touched the end credits on certain programmes!

Picture quality is great too.

Demand Five is a vast improvement on fivedownload and is superior to ITV's catch up service and on par with 4oD but it lacks content at the moment but that will change over the next few months.

I wonder whether Demand Five will eventually switch to Flash as the promo videos are Flash and not Windows media.

Have there been any adverts for this on Five yet?

It officially launches next week which is why no promos have aired yet. I do wonder whether any of the US imports and sports like Cricket will eventually be free content as they are main attractions of Five aside from Neighbours and Home and Away.

Looks great - but PLEASE get support for those who have Macs.
