If you use Dreamweaver's find and replace facility, you wouldn't then have to trawl through 800 pages to correct code.
I do have the ability to apply changes to the code on the entire site using script - in fact I do this quite a bit to apply global changes. However, it is still a complex and time consuming undertaking. Consider the fact that the code is not exactly the same on each page.
Would be nice if Front Page offered a half decent Search/Replace facility.

that thing is great except when you realised that the same thing is coded in about 50 different ways around the site and have to do them all manually like somebody had to do yesterday (urgh).
Good to hear you'll give the site a tweak Mike - it's progress in the right direction. Mind you all that gunk that got removed the other day means the page loads much quicker now anyways.
Oh out of interest - does FrontPage still advertise the alt tag as a tooltip maker? I know word 2000 does but I havn't got anything past that. I'll wait for FP 2003 and then download it to point and laugh / gasp at MS making a stunning product. Somehow though I think the former is more likely. ah well.

Front Page is far from perfect, there's no doubt about that. All TV Room pages started out on Front Page and are still edited in that way. It would somewhat defeat the purpose if I started to re-edit everything it produced.

*remembers the time he simply opened one of his pages in FrontPage and watched the code be destroyed*
Up until now MS FrontPage has been quite possibly the worse of all wysiwyg webpage editing apps. I shall
reserve judgement on MSFP 2003 until it's actually been released. Hopefully it'll have many improvements,
and it'll support standards properly, rather than just spew out tons of non-standard MSIE specific junk!
Whoa! Lord Lucan just rode past my house on the back of Shergar!
I like 1st Page 2000 - it's a little known HTML coding program which includes loads of handy javascripts and four modes - Easy (large buttons), Expert (drop down menus), Hardcore (small icons, no tooltips), and Normal (which gives you access to the other three interfaces). I got it on a magazone cover disc last year. And it doesn't spew out junk like a certain commercial editor! The only snag is it's three years old... It can be downloaded for free at http://www.evrsoft.com

The tweaks are not there to appease your quwest for 100% compliant XHTML everywhere... Also FrontPage XP was a great improvement, and many still judge FrontPage on experience with FrontPage Express back in 1997...
FrontPage 2003 is such an improvement and features many of the Dreamweaver methods, all in the FrontPage interface which is much more advanced than Dreamweaver. I am now working with 2003 as opposed to XP, and apart from some slight changes in the interface, I have yet to find all the features. Oh and FYI it now features a Code Cleanup feature

Wow - you've downloaded a copy off of Kazaa already?
