As I know this forum has a large Yorkshire following, heres something which will be of interest.

On The TV Room, the 1996 Channel 3 promo has been added.

The one where Ilkley Moor Bar'tat was played over scenes of our region for 2 minutes, along with a full versuion of the YTVCh3 ident

It certainly brings back memories!

Its on The TV Room - ITV - YTV - Old Idents page

That does bring back memories, but as far as I can remember it was hardly ever used, and normally only just before Calendar.

I remember when I first saw it, I thought it was replacement titles for Calendar !

I'm sure there were actually 2 versions of this...

a) I'm sure Huddersfield's McAlpine Stadium was in it (new at the time)
and
b) I'm sure it was filled with lots of little '3' motifs, such as 3 old men on a train and 3 candles on a 3 shaped cake, These were also used as quick animations at the time

Also, imagine having time for a 2 minute long promo these days, they'd have to show it squashed up during the credits of Emmerdale!

The Channel 3 North East version had lots of little animations of a 3 being made up, as well local landmarks and Mike Neville. Smile

Talking of long promo's, when Survivor had just started, there was a promo that summed up all the events which lasted for about a minute. Far too long and was a blatant attempt to try and make sure EVERYONE knew about the show. I only seen it once. Good job too!

They did the same for 'Barbara' last year some time as well, and maybe that sit-com that Richard Wilson was in earlier this year

Speaking of Ilkley Moor Bar'tat, where can I download the song on the internet? I would preferably like to have an instrumental version but if it had lyrics, it would bother me.

I liked the version that Yorkshire used, it reminds me of visiting my brother at university.
