Cableturn

You may have seen me contributing around the forum recently. I am launching a new site (Cableturn) which can also be used for the discussion of broadcasting, presentation etc.

I am also adding the option for users to directly upload presentation, which other members can comment on and discuss. Images can be uploaded, video embedded. However, I need to decide on categories and how they should be organized. The site is also currently under development.

The logo is based on an open Creative Commons image and adapted by a designer (which I am also currently paying).

Do you have any ideas for media categories. I have a general idea but would like feedback

No need to apologise. The site is no where near done I value your feedback.

Firstly, Forum sections will be decided upon and also media gallery categories where users can upload DOGs, Idents etc.

What do you mean?

With regards to media categories, I will include numerous sections for DOGs, Idents but should all channels be listed together (in their own respective albums)?

Why? You can't possibly offer anything which isn't already available loads of other places on the web.

Is the site entirely based around user contributions?

Where else can users upload idents, presentation (images and video) and can comment, discuss content uploaded? There's YouTube but it's also for a broader range. Flickr doesn't really count either. Most presentation sites do not allow uploads or even comments.

There is however a Forum in progress (main purpose of the site). It will all tie-in well.
