Quite nice. Still wish we didn't see it though!

Yeah, not necessarily the best way to deal with busy problems but something that hopefully looks ever so slightly more appealing.
Unfortunately, the problem is due to a maximum number of connections at any one point. These usually drop off as soon as the scripts stop running so waiting a moment should do the trick. And in response to a couple of comments, AFAIK hitting Back on your browser on the posting page should keep your post in the text box. You might want to look at your browser settings if it is not.
I'd love to put the site on a dedicated host in the UK but the hosting is paid here until early 2007 thanks to a special offer and money dictates. Last month the site got 800,000 page views and it's a lot more cost for a decent dedicated host and without a continuous, dependable and sufficient income from the site, I can't do it.
Should the site still be around when I've finished uni and into a decently paid job, I promise I'll move to dedicated.

It certainly would but would take away one reason why I set up the site in the first place. I always wanted it to be public without having to sign up a) so that people could see the discussion and b) to stop 'dead' accounts by people simply signing up for a quick peek.
As some who've received emails will know, along with a clear out of many inactive members, the Requests forum will be made private to stop people registering just for that and to stop the place turning into a theme tune request, zero-reply style forum.
The SQL scripts may have something to do with it too so I'll look at how efficient they're running as well to reduce the problems.

One idea was to stop guests from viewing some of the boards, I think this would stop or help stop the message.

Possibly only hide the mocks forum, media websites and requests to the guests. They would only have a sneaky peek at the forum.

I say the mocks and request forums should be hidden. Thanks for the info Asa. I agree with you, we don't want to see the error message but it's nicer than the old one.
