The BBC News website has updated it's responsive layout to go beyond 1000px, as per on the Sport website. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news

Seems to have reverted to previous version today.

Put a /0 on the end of the URL and it takes you to the wide layout: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/0 Smile

Thanks. It's defaulting to the wide layout for me again this evening.

Whilst the News front page is changing to the wider layout the poor old Market Data section of the news site still doesn't have the current layout. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business/market_data/overview/

It would be nice if it had the same amount of content as on other platforms.

It's all there, just needs some searching. They need to exploit the new larger app sizes allowed now, agreed to replicate the offering presentation elsewhere.

Warning prompts will be shown to unregistered iPlayer users from tomorrow as they prepare to switch to a registered users only service.

https://account.bbc.com/signin I do like the way the login page serves up a background image based on where you've come from (Graham Norton for TV, Jo Whiley for Radio, Attenborough of course by default)

I wonder what the reason is behind that page being hosted on the BBC.com domain and whether it's caused any confusion from people thinking it's trying to spoof the .co.uk site?

The TV Licensing point is interesting, they're being upfront about data use from the start I suppose but handing over email addresses is surely pointless? Given people will use throwaway accounts, name+service@domain style addresses, accounts for other family members etc. I can't see what benefit it would bring.

When did the Breaking News bar on the BBC News website change?

See previous page, but regarding this I much prefer the black/old version as it's more eye catching on a white background.
Warbler and London Lite gave kudos
