That would be great for viewers with the iPlayer Smart TV app who live in editorial areas of regions that they don't receive via Freeview. without having to wait for it to be uploaded.
This is already live on the Web Version of the player, Connected Devices also now include a region setting option which brings up the correct content for Catch Up. The 'Holy Grail' of providing IPTV live streams for Connected Devices, live restart et al, still has yet to appear, despite being promised when LR was introduced. I fear the distribution costs for this feature, which if introduced could easily be the default choice, especially in poor reception condition areas will prevent this appearing at any time soon.
I remember as well that in a recent iPlayer app update they mentioned the ability in the near future to watch live regional streams after setting your region in the app.

OK, they are fresh out of excuses. Newsround's site was more urgently in need of a redesign than the rest of CBBC, due to it's recent rebrand. So why is it the one section they ignored?

Edit: Only the Scotland, Wales and NI just now.
