Have a look at the BBC Programme Catalogue - found this site earlier today... it's amazing!

You can search by people credited in a programme, programme name and even browse listings for BBC TV, S4C and BBC radio for any specific date!

It doesn't have every programme listed, but its still an amazing database!

An excellent resource, useful for dating random bits of pres you come across or dating your old recordings.

And of course, seeing what was on when you were born!

A little tip-off: TV Forum types might like to do searches for PRESENTATION and PROMOTIONS.

as is...

Quote:

ODDITY:Robin DAY to cam, white South African comes to camera making strange noises, DAY angry, asks man to "get out of the way of my camera" man walks off. DAY comments that man was part of a group of Whites that tried earlier to stop team filming(17.38-17.52)

I like the way quite a few things have detail on the show's content. Looking at Live & Kicking they have all the details of what hapenned in the editions. Presumably, people watched through the tapes to get this info.

I find it quite amusing that Dave Lee Travis is always credited as Dave Travis!

An episode of Paul Daniels' magic show, but with the added bonus of telecom tower and a whole gamot of regional presenters somehow involving thought control. I'd love to see this!

This thing's cruel, of course, enticing you with info on programmes you will NEVER EVER get to see. Things like Hot Line and Money Unlimited: The Touch.

It's certainly a useful resource. I only wish there was a similar web site covering programmes produced by the ITV network.

There is the ITN archive, but it hasn't got every ITV company in there.

Yep... same for me. Don't know whether it's just a temporary Bank Holiday glitch or a major server failure, but I've sent an email to a contact at the BBC who I believe works on the Programme Catalogue site, so I'll let you know what he says!
