Why didn't you just put the Beta link first? These little things annoy me DVB, they annoy me! Wink

I'm glad they've finally added a favourites feature, I no longer have to search the whole site to find programmes I watch frequently!

This whole adaptive bitrate thing doesn't seem to work for me. I've switched to the old site to watch what I want. I also miss the categories - are they still there?

I'm amazed they did not switch to HTML5 about 2 days to the iPads launch.

Then again the mobile version does work on iPhones so I suppose it's not much a problem.

They're on the front page but look a little messy IMO.

Nice to see the much anticipated Global Visual Language on the new iPlayer. Oh wait.

So they are - but no, not as good as before.

Well, I don't imagine it would be too difficult to implement - but you're right, why wait?

However, I'm being quite negative about the change - and that's not how I feel on the whole. Perhaps my slow speed last night was due to a surge in traffic. On the whole, all the new features seem good; I just focus on the bad!

Connected up my Sony BDP-S370 to the net tonight and am incredibly impressed with the iPlayer on it. HD content is superb.

This claims that the iPlayer will soon be linking to programmes on ITV, C4, Five, S4C and See Saw. Confused

Are they getting this mixed up with something else, it doesn't sound right?

The iPlayer will link out to content elsewhere, in a minor revision to V3 later this summer.

No it was announced when the new Beta Iplayer launched that later in the year - proberly when it comes out of Beta, that if for example you put "Emmerdale" into the iplayer search bar, it would give you the link to the ITV Player!

From Media Gurdian
Quote:
Broadcasters including ITV, Channel 4 and Channel Five will also benefit from iPlayer's user traffic for the first time, with the service offering links through to the VoD players of commercial rivals...

The new version of the iPlayer, which goes live in a beta testing version from today, will see the channel icons of rival broadcasters appear in the online electronic programming guide alongside the BBC's own TV services.

In addition, rivals' shows will appear if a non-BBC programme, such as "Coronation Street", is entered into the iPlayer's search engine and can be added to an constantly updated favourites list of content.

Deals have been struck with the ITV Player, Channel 4's 4oD, Five's Five on Demand, S4C's Clic and the VoD aggregation service SeeSaw.
