Hi guys lets just clear a few things up shall we, First i think alot of people on this forum are very rude to other people who use it. Anyway CMP Radio has had a massive increase of listeners since it was shown on BBC World, BBC News 24 and on BBC one on the show called "Click Online" and CMP Radio is totaly different to any other Internet station as it lets anybody broadcast for free when and where they want. So if you don't want to talk about CMP Radio fine then don't post on the Topic but if you do then go ahead, because at the moement you are the people making pointless posts not James.

LOL you can only be as successful as your listeners make you. And right now your busy offending possible listeners so you could just have lost them.

James brings it on himself anyway.

I can't help but reach the conclusion that you're completely in love with your own personality and the sound of your own voice.

Maybe that's why you are unsuccesful with girls. You're too in love with yourself! Rolling Eyes

I will respond to that, Dave, with two points.

Yes, a massive increase in listeners since a bit of publicity, but the question you need to ask is NOT "how many times do they listen once?", but "how many times do they return having enjoyed it?"

I suspect the answer is that they DON'T return, purely because of the second half of your point. If you let just any old saddo broadcast, without any selection process, then you'll end up with a station with NO appeal to anyone.

Hey,

CMP Radio is not what its cracked up to be. CMP seem to think they are the only internet radio station out there and advertise that fact.

It is also full of people who err can't DJ. I'm not saying everyone who DJ's there is bad, some of them are very good and are friends of mine, however since the BBC News insight on them they have been flooded with newbies who frankly make it so people do not want to listen.

DJ Dave and others will defend CMP but I thought i'd post my 2p

Thanks

CMP Radio does not think they are the only Internet station out there. They know there is tones of Internet radio stations even all the EMAP ones etc. However CMP is a very rare station as it lets anybody broadcast in the world not matter if they are any age at all. You will be very lucky to find any more stations like CMP Radio maybe one or 2 that are kind of the same but not exactly the same as CMP.

Yes and some of the shows may not be great but at least the people are having fun using CMP. Then again some of the shows you may find great on CMP Radio and want to hear more of that presenter or show. So anyway all I am saying is you are interested in Radio and you have not been over to the site then take a look at it and see what you think. They had over 2.4 million hits in April and the 1-year birthday is coming up very soon.

CMP Radio's programmes are good, but there's only one programme I listen to, and that's Distorted (only because my mate hosts it).

The problem is CMP have got everything arse about face.

Most stations worry about getting listeners, and generally have more listeners than broadcasters but CMP have it the other way round. You can tell they dont have many listeners as they dont publish their figures, they would if they were any good....

It would be interesting to hear some figures in relation to listeners.

As for CMP, to me, it's gone a little quiet and to be fair always has been quiet. The need to restructure themselves and get people involved other than just broadcasting.

Promotion

There is none. Or none that I've seen. Nothing to call people in to listen. I bet I get a reply to this saying but we do on such and such radio forum etc.... why? You need to broaden - start adverising in the street, in newspapers.... online in places you've not been to before.

Design

Where? The site at the time seemed good for what it was. Now it looks like some boring dull and drab site that really puts me off. It doesn't scream INTERNET RADIO STATION to me. Infact it doesn't scream anything apart from boring.

There's no *interesting* logo targetting a youthful market. Infact the site and colouring doesn't target the market you appear to be aiming for.

Website Content

Content? Huh? Where? Your a radio station, yet all you have on your site is information about becoming a DJ and what CMP is.

From what I've listened to your presenters do shows and little features - Infact if I remember rightly I've even heard the news blasting out TOTH, yet not a mention of any of this on the site apart from the small presenter Bio's.

They need to get people involved other than broadcasting, there is room for improvement, a market to grab - and there could also be money to be made - because I LARGERLY suspect this little station doesn't make money and in financial terms WILL be operating a severe loss.

Hey if you need my services guys Wink

Edit: I just found the news on the homepage. It blended in that well I missed it.

Just so everyone knows, the show is going out now, I reccomend you listen!

How do you manage to post at a little after ten on a Monday morning, saying your show is going out NOW, when your signature clearly states that you're on 4pm to 6pm, Wednesday to Friday

They dont have many listeners, I stumbled across a URL where their listener figures were available for the public (they have passworded it now) and average listenership was about 2.

Just edited to say this was a while ago so it may have changed I don't know. Although it was true back then.
