Yes, that's if digital penetration gets to near 100%. Digital TV isn't too bad but the quality doesn't match that of analogue.
Currently it's only at about 41% (see here
), so don't expect analogue to disappear any time soon. If they did switch analogue TV off tommorrow, then 59% of the population would be left without TV and I'm sure that many people would be fairly pissed off.
So in a way you are right, but Chris is technically right because it's not like Sky and DTT
boxes are flying off the shelves at the moment and the realistic time for a switchoff, as James said would be about 10 years. Also there are no video recorders with intergrated digital decoders so many people will probably sit tight and wait before they make their next move.
