EDIT : I turned off my ad blocker and the American ones don't show anymore. Good man Asa!

Maybe worth experimenting with adding ebay.com and ebay.co.uk to the filter list to get rid of some of the scruffier ads. Though the ads shown instead may pay less, people may be more likely to click on them.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions and comments.
The existing ads will run on the homepage for a period - partly to keep the account active and also to see how it goes with Google.
As to TradeDoubler, I think they were used for a while on the forum in the early days and I wasn't impressed by the result but I'll keep it in mind.
