For the record I have Spybot loaded onto my machine - it stops pop-ups and other harmful cookie harvesting programs from getting onto my hard drive and do I want to block it. If you request that it blocks it - no page loads up on the screen.

Almost everytime without fail, it flashes up a message that adiva wants to have my name so it can send me more spam rubbish down the line. Sometimes I have to hit page reload button 8 times before I can read the thread title list...

..And I getting slowly annoyed by it Evil or Very Mad

Bad of me to dredge this up I know but it's either this or a new topic and being reprimanded for it. Right, I can't be the only one who sick of cheap advertising for green cards or smilies can I? Each time I see them it's spam and worst of all, sometimes it loads up a block banner rather than the usual dimensions!

Asa, if you must have advertising, make sure it's high quality!

I've also noticed (what I assume is down to the ads) downloads from gator.com
This makes me uncomfortable.

Whats with those ridculous large square ads that are now appearing? They push the page out of shape completely.

The old advertising company terminated my account. They were very apologetic but unfortunately due to changes in renegotiating contracts with advertisers for this year, all forum-based sites were dropped.

This gave me just over a month to find another suitable company. Sadly there were no others anywhere near as good in the UK so I had to look abroad. Hence the new ads which, yes, I appreciate aren't as good quality or relevant as Wanadoo or Sky.

The ads are in a trial period and they do have UK advertisers so hopefully as time progresses, better ads will appear.

BTW, I contacted them about the rogue stretchy ad and it has been removed.

As someone else suggested earlier, I do recommend giving Google Adsense a try if you want targeted, relevant ads.

I use Firefox, and don't have a problem with Gator trying to do whatever it is trying to do in IE.

Gator is a viscious piece of software.

"Our customers love Gator!" -- Of course, their "customers" advertise with the cleverly-acronymed GatorAdvertisingInformationNetwork so they would!

I use Firefox too, but gator stills drops a cookie.

I hate all these us adverts, who would get a green card on here. Please get Googles Adwords on here or something else please.

If you got rid of the adverts and you have a button to give you money I would pay you loads.
