Well the TV app hasn't changed much other than a bit of a reskin, while channel4.com is now little more than a video content portal, though it's been that way for a while. Still think all the extras under the All 4 banner could easily have been delivered under the 4oD banner - a brand which is well known and as they say themselves was actually the first free to air on demand service launched not just in the UK, but in the world.
Also caught a brief ad for it earlier on C4 and it's not very distinctive at all - the C4 logo with colour looks very nice and would have been a good basis for a channel refresh but the link into promoted content doesn't make it clear at all what service they're advertising - they say it's on "All 4" but I suspect most people won't have a clue what that is.

There really is nothing to hint that All4 is called All4 from the logo or any of the promotion I've seen so far. I've seen a few trailers that have just said to catch up with previous episodes "on demand", no brand.
I think it really shows how weak C4's general digital strategy is. They've made some hopeless mistakes over the last two years: they've replaced a very well established brand name in 4oD with something that very literally sounds "awful", they've closed down their extensively promoted Scrapbook which presumably means they'll have the edit all the episodes of Come Dine in which they stupidly decided to include a caption and voice over reference, that obviously very terrible 4Now second screen app which they stopped updating about 2 months after release and the eternally useless 4Seven app which was supposed to assist in shaping the channel but obviously played no such part because why would anyone use it?
So much money wasted on so many projects that couldnt possibly take off.

Yeah, I saw the same ad last night and I agree. No indication at all that All4 is 4OD. Could just as easily be a new channel.

Is the logo supposed to represent the word "ALL" in some form or another? I don't see the name "All 4" in any of the adverts, which implies the name is somehow implemented in the logo... but I don't see it.

And looks awful. If only they could sum up their On Demand serving by adding a small but simple image next to the 4 logo which made it clear exactly what the service is.
On the plus side at least the service is now rid of those 4oD screens pulling out to reveal a C4 ident - always though they were a bit crap. The new version is similar to the promo then goes straight into an O2 sponsor bumper instead.
P.S. Film4 OD still seems to exist. I'm guessing rights stop them releasing that as a TV app or incorporating it into All4.

Why couldn't they slap the word "All" on it? You didn't see the 4OD logo without OD, right?

The first batch could pass as new Channel 4 idents. Just goes to show how pointless this All 4 brand is... there is no All 4 brand! It's just something CAs say when the colourful 4 logo pops up from the ground.
