The connected Freeview Pay TV IPTV service VuTV is to cease transmission next Thursday and is taking no more subscribers.

I suspect with TV Player Plus launching on LCN 241 soon along with the rise of NOW TV led to it's downfall.

I'm amazed it's lasted this long really. Whilst a good idea in principle, if you had to choose between VuTV and a NOW TV Entertainment Month Pass for the same price, NOW TV would be my choice.

Even a TV Player Plus sub at £4.99 offers some of the same channels that VuTV offered and offers better value for money. Combine NOW TV's Entertainment Pass and TV Player Plus and you have a decent selection of channels via IPTV.

They also allegedly had grim liaison with some in the TV industry, if not making enemies, not making many friends. At least one manufacturer fell out with them over standards. I know the D Book is complex but for both the manufacturer and VuTV to accuse each other of non compliance doesn't bode well.

Apparently Comedy Central was taken off the platform earlier in the year, but is still listed on the website even now.
