Virgin now are changing up the packages of their TV services, with new names - Player, Mix, Fun and Full House. Essentially, the rebadged versions of M, M+, L and XL. More and M+ still exist - but they're not being sold anymore to new customers.

Certain channels have changed up packages. For example, Comedy Central is now on Mix and the CBS channels, Home are moved to Player.

The V HD Box is no longer available to be retailed to new customers - meaning that Virgin is abandoning the old middleware gradually.

Those package names sound silly to me. I suppose it was inevitable after the incredibly crap sounding "Big Kahuna".

I always liked the previous names for being clear as to the level of the offer.

The new names might be 'fun' and 'quirky' (although they're not) but they're not particularly understandable either.

The M/L/XL names have had a good run as they've been used since the launch of the Virgin Media brand itself, so coming up on 10 years this following February!

I wonder if they'll launch a package with a TiVo box that doesn't lag like a Speak & Spell trying to run GTA V...
