Apparently FreeSports have joined the platform.

Confirmed.

Another offer, use the code CYCLING50 to receive half price. This is a promotion to watch cycling on Eurosport.

I also noticed as an ex PLUS customer, I'm still entitled to the full package for £5.99pm instead of £7.99 for PLUS Max.

US Tech business channel Cheddar has launched FTA.

Cheddar is the direct US feed, so judders if watching at 50Hz.

I've also noticed that you have to set up an account and sign in to watch the FTA channels.

Does that suggest it's customer based is less than 50,000 then?

In all honesty the only place I've ever seen TV Player mentioned is on the a516 website.

Revenue is up by 150% for every 10,000 customers they gained. So 100% is around 6,800. Sounds like you're right.

Considering their customer base is that small, is it any wonder thanks to their complex licensing deals with providers?

It's not that surprising considering similar enterprises in the past have fallen foul of copyright and legality issues. Those that really want the content have the choice of going elsewhere to businesses with a much longer history.

Another TVPlayer oddity with devices.

Win 10 app doesn't allow you to watch UKTV channels. yet use a browser and they're all there.

A pleasant surprise that there are no rights restrictions on Android TV, so can watch the UKTV channels. It appears to be the only device where there are no rights restrictions bar browsers and tablets/phones.

With the UKTV debacle, I decided to trial TVPlayer again, this time through Android TV/Google Play. I was surprised that the Plus Max sub is £6.99, £1 cheaper than through TV Player themselves.

However, if any ex Virgin customers go down this route, you'll have to wait 14 days before you can access the UKTV pay channels (FTA such as Dave work) and Eurosport 1/2 as they're not part of the trial.
