Hello

I have a 32 inch toshiba tv connected to Sky+ via hdmi. Its developed a strange problem. Whenever a recording is started or a show goes to commercials the screen goes blue and there is no sound.

This also happens sometimes when the house lights are turned on. Its very annoying. Can anyone help me please?

Many thanks. Very Happy

It could be some form of content protection, not sure though

Is there anything I can do to deal with that?

Sky suggests updating the box software, you can google how to do this

Check your output settings: Press Services -> Right to Settings -> HD Resolution Output. You can set this to Auto for switching between 4:3 and 16:9/HD or leave it on 1080i which will upscale everything not HD and not show archive 4:3 programming properly.

A Sky+ Software update is easy to do and always worth doing as they tend to fix 95% of all Sky issues - unplug the box, hold the Back-Up button down (on the box, not the remote) and keep it pressed while you plug the box back in. When all four lights on the front of the box come on release the button. After about 10 minutes all the lights will go out, wait five minutes, press the Sky button on your remote to wake it up and it'll come back on Sky 998.
