Sky have decided to pull Sky Store from the YouView platform from November 30th. This was the only subscription free outlet for YouView users to stream movies.

NOW TV Movies will continue to be provided as part of the usual subscription, as well as those YouView boxes which are able to download programmes.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if Sky remove NOW TV from the platform in the new year considering their own Smart Box functionality.

Am I right in thinking NOW TV on YouView has never been updated? When I had YouView the NOW TV app only had Sky Movies on demand, with no other content.

I think it's been mentioned before that Sky we're going to pull the plug with NOW TV on YouView.

It's one of those things I can't see many YouView users or Sky being too concerned about, especially if BT still intend to take full control of YouView.

Sports channels were removed, as is the fact that entertainment channels weren't ever added because NOW TV relies on unicast streaming.
This move follows Quest On Demand being removed from the players section of YouView, and reducing the overall amount of players to 10.

I doubt Sky Store will come back on YouView, especially when BT take it over - NOW TV on YouView is a joke however and would probably be next in line for the cull.
