As of 1st July charges will be made up of an access charge & a service charge. From a TV (and radio) aspect it means and end to the old "Calls cost £x.xx from a BT landline. Other landlines may vary and calls from mobiles may cost considerably more" type announcements and instead a shorter "Calls cost £x.xx plus your phone company's access charge". Also as part of the changes 0800 and 0808 numbers will become free from mobiles.
