Nvidia Shield

Hi

I've just bought an Nvidia Shield Pro and have a 2TB WD External HDD connected to the Pro via USB. Can anyone advise me on how to transfer files from my Mac to the HDD via FTP please?

This may be a limitation of the Shield.

Do you have to use FTP? I think you may be better off with SMB?

I've tried FTP but it didn't work. SMB did although it took about 3 hours to transfer everything(!)
